Our Local Community

Maroubra is our local community, and we believe in supporting the local people and learning about where we live

All food items not home grown are locally bought to support our local shops and growers. As well as using small, local companies for the incursions at the preschool, we believe in supporting those who are willing to try and succeed in a world of big businesses. We also take pride in teaching the kids about the local ecosystem with emphasis on the native wildlife and the world famous Maroubra Beach. In consolidation with our local Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander community we teach the children about the totem animal of their tribe - Guriwal The Whale. The whale was celebrated across Sydney by all those tribes on the sea side. They traditionally danced and celebrated the whales journey as it migrated out for winter and wishing them a safe journey. The celebrations were ignited once again on the whales return in the summer as they celebrated their children and the return of their friends.
